Coach Rocky Lamar, the head men's basketball coach at
MNU
led the 2008-2009 Pioneers back to their first ever
NAIA Division I
tournament, where they made a phenomenal run to the Final Four. This was the
Pioneer's 4th consecutive Final Four and their 11th straight tournament.Coach Lamar has received "Coach of the Year" honors in the Heart of America conference 5 times. He was also "Coach of the Year" in NAIA district 10 1991-1992, MNU Staff Person of the year 99-00, alumnus of the year 2007, NAIA and KBCA coach of the year 2007, GKCBCA Hall of Fame 2008, and KBCA Coach of the Year 2009. |
